WooCommerce is a very powerful and popular e-commerce tool and has its own resource guide and support area. We use WooCommerce for a variety of reasons but most of all for the flexibility it offers. You can sell products of your own or affiliate, sell tickets, manage inventory, offer coupons, sell memberships, track orders, record sales, manage users and so much more.
Getting Started WooCommerce Docs
Managing Orders (Payments)
WooCommerce is your online shopping cart. All online purchases on this website give users the option to pay by credit card or cash/ cheque. All credit card purchases are automatically processed online via Moneris (which is connected to your internal POS). All online orders with cash/ cheque payments need to be manually processed in WooCommerce.

WooCommerce Products are used to sell e-commerce items on your website (excluding Tickets). We will use products to sell: donations, membership dues, jury fees, calendars and any future products for sale.

Tickets vs. Products - Which one should I use?
*Tickets are used to sell/ RSVP to events based on a time/quantity where custom question fields are required during checkout. Example: kids art class registration involves a series of registrant questions and form permission. Products should be used for all other sales - when no advanced customer questions are required during checkout.
Calendars, Jury Fee and other Single Products should be setup as a Simple Product - learn more here.
Donations & Membership Dues
Donations & Membership Dues should be setup as a Variable Product - learn more here. This will enable 1 product post to display a dropdown of various buying options. Each buying option can have a unique stock, quantity and attributes. You should avoid creating multiple products for the same thing.
Film Series should be setup as a Virtual or Downloadable Product - learn more here. Downloadable will send customers a file after they purchase (ex: generic ticket). Virtual will not send any file - you can then follow up using customer notes to send them their ticket file.
This site only acts as a catalogue for Art rental items. No art rental items are not sold through the website/woocommerce. Users can create a wishlist and contact the NVCAC Art Rental manager to rent or purchase items. Learn how to add an Art Rental product here.
